Fraud Risk Strategy Consultant
Point Predictive is a fast-growing AI company that helps banks, lenders, and finance companies make smarter, faster lending decisions. Our technology identifies which borrowers are reporting truthfully on loan applications and which are not. The result: lenders fund more loans, faster, while cutting losses by 40-60%.
We serve more than 650 customers and have proprietary risk data from over $4 trillion in historic loan originations. Our clients represent top-tier market leaders in the auto, bank, credit union and fintech industry. Our solutions are enterprise-grade and market-tested and deliver proven results such as the ability to approve up to 80% of credit-approved applications automatically while catching fraud that traditional methods miss.
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Fraud Risk Strategy Consultant to join our team. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to identify, prevent, and detect fraud on loans at banks, credit unions, auto lenders and personal lenders and create automation strategies to help them onboard more good loans and minimize friction.
This role sits at the intersection of customer success, fraud domain expertise, and data-driven consulting. You will work directly with customer executives, risk and fraud leaders, and technical teams to ensure our solutions are delivering measurable business outcomes while also acting as a strategic advisor on fraud management best practices.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role for someone who is comfortable translating complex data into actionable insights and leading meaningful conversations at both the executive and technical levels.
What You'll Do
Customer Strategy & Relationship Management
Own a portfolio of mid-market and enterprise customers from onboarding through renewal. Lead QBRs, MBRs, and regular cadence calls, tying product usage and performance to customer business goals. Build trusted relationships with stakeholders ranging from C-level executives to engineers and analysts. Act as a strategic advisor on fraud prevention, risk mitigation, and performance optimization.
Fraud & Risk Advisory
Develop a deep understanding of customer fraud workflows, risk strategies, and operational constraints. Advise customers on fraud management approaches within industries such as lending and consumer finance, banking and fintech, and auto dealerships and indirect lending. Partner with customers to evaluate fraud tradeoffs including false positives vs. fraud loss, approval rates, and operational efficiency.
Data & Technical Enablement
Analyze customer performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Translate model outputs, scores, and performance metrics into clear business narratives. Collaborate with product, engineering, and data science teams to resolve technical issues, provide feedback from the field, and influence roadmap decisions. Support technical discussions around integrations, APIs, data pipelines, and model performance.
Commercial Ownership
Drive renewals and expansion by demonstrating ongoing value and ROI. Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities aligned with customer goals. Partner with Sales on account strategy and executive alignment. Serve as the voice of the customer internally.
What You Bring
Core Experience
At least 5 years in Customer Success, Solutions Consulting, Risk/Fraud Consulting, or a related role. Experience working with fraud, risk, or compliance-related products or teams. Proven ability to manage executive relationships and lead strategic customer conversations.
Fraud & Domain Knowledge
Solid understanding of fraud and risk concepts such as fraud detection and prevention, identity verification, credit risk and decisioning, and false positive/false negative tradeoffs. Experience in or exposure to industries such as lending, banking, fintech, or auto finance is strongly preferred.
Data & Analytical Skills
Comfort working with data to assess performance and outcomes. Ability to interpret dashboards, reports, and model results and explain them clearly to non-technical audiences. Familiarity with SQL, Python, or data analysis tools is a plus.
Communication & Presence
Strong executive presence and storytelling ability. Equally comfortable speaking with risk leaders, business stakeholders, developers, analysts, and data scientists. Ability to simplify complex technical concepts without losing credibility.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position based in our San Diego headquarters, with on-site attendance preferred. Travel to customer sites for quarterly business reviews and strategic planning sessions will be required, typically 25-30% of the time.
Why Point Predictive
You'll work on complex, high-impact fraud and risk problems, not just adoption metrics. You'll influence how customers design and evolve their fraud strategies. You'll operate as a trusted advisor, not a reactive support function. And you'll partner closely with product, data science, and engineering teams.
