We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic is preferred, along with a strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. This role offers an excellent opportunity to grow within a dynamic environment specializing in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dental services while maintaining a safe and welcoming atmosphere for patients.

Duties

  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following aseptic techniques
  • Assist dentists during various procedures including chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry
  • Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed
  • Record vital signs and medical history accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic
  • Manage medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
  • Provide patient education on dental procedures, oral hygiene, and post-treatment care using appropriate dental terminology
  • Assist with medical imaging and recordkeeping related to dental procedures
  • Support reception duties as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow
  • Maintain infection control standards and ensure the clinic environment adheres to OSHA guidelines
  • Support pediatric dentistry services by understanding pediatric-specific protocols and communication styles
  • Keep up-to-date with advancements in dental technology including 3D scanners and other diagnostic tools

Experience

  • Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred
  • Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is advantageous
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is essential
  • Familiarity with dental specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry enhances effectiveness in this role
  • Certification or training in X-ray technology and medical imaging is desirable
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding practices is beneficial
  • Experience supporting pediatric patients or working within pediatric dentistry is a plus
