Steelers 2026 NFL Draft Event Operations Internship: Two (2) Internships Open

Internship candidates play an integral support role within the Pittsburgh Steelers' Strategy Department. Throughout the season and offseason, students will be able to gain experience by creating event materials, working on relevant projects, and building and maintaining relationships with industry professionals.

Description and Duties:

The 2026 NFL Draft Event Operations Intern will assist with 2026 NFL Draft planning and events leading up to, during, and post-NFL Draft. Interns are actively involved in departmental initiatives and will manage multiple tasks assigned by the Strategy Department, including external communication, executive coordination, supply management, resource development, and other operational tasks as needed. Candidates will have the opportunity to learn and apply knowledge related to event management and assist with the planning and execution of 2026 NFL Draft site visits, meetings, and events. Individuals in these positions must possess the ability to effectively correspond and communicate with team members, external companies, and NFL partners. Interns will have the opportunity to participate in one-on-one sessions with management focused on professional development and career growth.

The 2026 NFL Draft Event Operations Intern will assist the Sr Project Manager with a range of events and projects, including the 2026 NFL Draft. The candidate will help with the general set-up and operation of both public and private events, meetings, and more. The intern will assist in coordinating all aspects of events, including but not limited to vendor outreach, registration, run of shows, donors, and more. The candidate will also collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure meetings, events, and related activities run smoothly. Each event or meeting is different, so the structures and plans will vary accordingly.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • This internship will begin in mid-January and run through mid-May.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency is a must.
  • Student must be available 4-5 days a week between the hours of 10am and 5pm as well as select nights, weekends, and/or holidays for events.
  • Experience working in a fast paced, guest focused operations and guest services environment.
  • Effective communication skills and an interest in executing large-scale sports and events.
