Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Strategic Buyer to join our procurement and supply chain team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and services to support our manufacturing and operational needs. This position requires a strong understanding of ERP systems, procurement strategies, and supply chain management to ensure optimal inventory levels, cost efficiency, and supplier relationships. The Strategic Buyer will collaborate across departments to align purchasing activities with production planning and business objectives.

Duties

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for raw materials, components, and services using ERP systems such as SAP or NetSuite.
  • Manage procurement processes including RFQs, negotiations, contract management, and supplier selection to secure the best pricing and terms.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain risks to proactively adjust sourcing strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production planning, logistics, inventory management, and merchandising to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier performance metrics within ERP platforms.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and contractual obligations.
  • Optimize inventory control by balancing stock levels with demand forecasts using MRP systems and inventory management tools.
  • Support logistics coordination to ensure timely delivery of materials while minimizing costs.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in procurement workflows and supply chain efficiencies.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in procurement or sourcing roles within manufacturing or supply chain environments.
  • Strong proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP (SAP ERP), NetSuite, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of materials management, MRP, inventory control, logistics, and supply chain management principles.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable contracts and pricing agreements.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms related to procurement processes.
  • Ability to analyze market data and develop strategic sourcing plans aligned with production planning needs.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Experience in contracts management, procurement policies, and sourcing strategies is preferred.
