Licensed Veterinary Technician

Adobe Animal Hospital is actively looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our amazing team. We are seeking an organized, compassionate, and service-oriented Licensed Veterinary Technician who is confident in rooming patients, assisting in surgery, placing IV catheters, drawing blood, and running bloodwork, has experience with x-rays and proper positioning, understands the importance of client education, and is a supportive and positive team player. Excellent communication and organizational skills are a must. The veterinary industry is constantly advancing and growing, and Adobe Animal Hospital encourages its staff to do the same. Salary: $17 – 20 per hour

Schedule: Part-time and Full-time opportunities available. Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 6 pm, Opening on Saturdays soon Closed on Sunday and major holidays.

Who You Are:

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Texas, or eligible to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months of hire
• 2+ years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary technician or assistant
• Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Passion for working with animals and their owners
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
• Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
• Understand the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
• Exam room skills include obtaining accurate histories, obtaining vitals, brief exams, client education and financial conversations
• Dental Experience, including charting, scaling, polishing, dental radiology
• Skilled in IV Catheter placement, venipuncture, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages and splints
• Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique, pre-operative and post-operative care
• Laboratory skills including in-house lab equipment, ear and skin cytology set-up and interpretation
• Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
• And all other duties of a Licensed Veterinary Technician as allowable by law
