Position Summary
One Place Metro Alabama Family Justice Center is seeking a Director of Youth and Family Services who will lead One Place's efforts to address the impact of domestic violence on children and families. This position will lead our Camp HOPE program and will develop and implement a comprehensive program to address the needs of children of survivors served by One Place.
Additionally, this position will serve as the lead on a federal grant focused on Family Violence Prevention & Services strengthening protective factors and promoting healing for survivors of domestic violence and their children. The Director will be responsible for grant implementation, partner coordination, and outcomes measurement.
The ideal candidate is organized, driven, energetic, a team player, compassionate, able to easily connect with children of all ages and their caregivers, and enjoys adventures like hiking, canoeing, and jumping into lakes.
The position reports to the Executive Director.

The mission of One Place Family Justice Center (One Place) is to lead a coordinated community response to domestic and sexual violence that protects survivors, promotes healing, and holds offenders accountable.
One Place envisions a community united against domestic and sexual violence—one that ensures safety and justice for survivors, and works together to break the cycle of generational violence.
About Camp HOPE America - Metro Alabama
Camp HOPE America is the first and only evidence-based camping and mentoring initiative in the United States focused on children exposed to domestic violence and trauma. The vision of Camp HOPE America is to break the generational cycle of family violence by offering healing and hope to children and adults who have witnessed and been impacted by family violence. One Place is the only Camp HOPE America site in the state of Alabama and serves children and families in the Birmingham Metro Area. Camp HOPE provides children ages 7-17 with positive childhood experiences through weekend events and a week-long sleepover summer camp and addresses the needs of the whole family unit through navigation and case management.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Development
- Direct all aspects of Camp HOPE Alabama programming, including planning, staffing, volunteer recruitment, partnerships, training, and evaluation.
- Develop and implement a new program model to ensure that children and youth impacted by domestic violence receive trauma-informed services and interventions.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure coordinated care for child and family survivors.
- Integrate evidence-based and promising practices to enhance youth and family programming.
- Supervise program staff, interns, and volunteers involved in youth and family services.
Grant Management & Reporting
- Serve as project lead for the federal grant awarded to One Place that supports survivors and their children.
- Oversee program implementation, budget management, and compliance with all grant requirements.
- Collect, analyze, and report program outcomes and data to funders and leadership.
- Collaborate with research partners to evaluate program impact and identify areas for improvement.
Community Engagement & Partnerships
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with partner agencies, schools, and community organizations.
- Represent One Place in community collaborations and professional networks focused on family violence prevention and youth resilience.
- Participate in public awareness, outreach, and training activities as needed.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred in Social Work, Counseling, Education, Public Health, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
· Experience building relationships with children and teens
· Experience working with children and teens who have experienced trauma (preferred)
· Experience in camping and mentoring (preferred)
· Ability to communicate in Spanish with caregivers (preferred)
· Experience in the field of family violence or child abuse services in a non-profit setting (preferred)
· Desire and ability participate in a week-long outdoor camp for children
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle crisis and stressful situations
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
· The ability to manage multiple projects at one time
· A sense of humor and commitment to being a team player
· Experience with all Microsoft office products, especially Excel and PowerPoint
· Familiarity with Canva
· Successfully pass a background check and have a valid Alabama driver's license and auto insurance
· Occasional evenings and weekends required
Benefits
· Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000
