New Brunswick, New Jersey, United States Kalon Search Full time

A dynamic company within the health and nutrition space is conducting a search for a Master Production Scheduler. This is a pivotal leadership position, offering the chance to influence organizational growth and operational maturity after a recent acquisition. The successful candidate will blend hands-on involvement with strategic planning, contributing to streamlined processes, strong departmental collaboration, and scalable business practices.

This position oversees the development and execution of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) in collaboration with the Master Planner, ensuring customer demand aligns with internal capacity and supply readiness for seamless commercial execution. This role oversees the entire planning process—from demand forecasting to master production and material planning—ensuring consistent product availability, optimal inventory, and streamlined operations. This role is accountable for developing and executing the Master Production Schedule in partnership with the Master Planner, aligning customer requirements with internal capabilities and supply readiness.

**This is an in-person opportunity in NJ, and a small relocation is available.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Steer end-to-end demand planning efforts, ensuring production schedules and inventory controls are fully synchronized with the company's expansion targets.
  • Leverage market intelligence and historical data to generate forecasts and inform inventory strategy, focusing on optimal stock levels and responsiveness to customer needs.
  • Drive refinement of cross-functional planning processes, coordinating closely with stakeholders throughout manufacturing, procurement, operations, and commercial functions.
  • Bring forward innovative planning approaches—adopting tools and methods from larger organizations and customizing them for a nimble, growth-minded environment.
  • Use key supply chain indicators (such as on-time delivery and forecast accuracy) to measure, report, and enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Be vigilant in spotting disruptions or inefficiencies in supply and production networks, and lead fast, effective resolutions in partnership with diverse teams.
  • Foster open communication across all impacted departments, ensuring everyone is working from aligned information and able to address operational challenges quickly.
  • Lead by example in adapting to new processes and driving ongoing transformation within a fast-evolving organization.

Desired Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Food Science, Operations, or related discipline required.
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience within the consumer packaged goods, nutraceuticals, or food industries, with a minimum of 2 years managing or leading planning teams.
  • Demonstrated success managing demand planning initiatives and S&OP cycles, with a proactive track record of process improvement.
  • Proficient in ERP and MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite); additional experience with demand forecasting software is an advantage.
  • Strong grasp of regulatory frameworks such as GMP, FDA, HACCP, or SQF, and their practical implications for operations and planning.
  • 3+ years handling the Master Production Schedule
  • Evidence of adapting high-level planning strategies from large enterprises for use within smaller, agile teams.
  • Analytical mindset with an ability to leverage metrics for business improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication abilities for working across functional boundaries.
  • Thrives in environments undergoing rapid change, bringing an entrepreneurial and solution-focused attitude.
