About Kids Rank

Kids Rank is a 501(c)(3) service-based organization dedicated to supporting military children through in-school and after-school, hands-on programming. Founded in 2012 in Great Lakes, IL, we serve the largest population of military-connected school-aged children in the state and western Great Lakes region. Our peer-to-peer, relationship-driven programming bridges the gap between policy and episodic assistance by offering consistent, empathetic engagement and essential resources to support the social and emotional well-being of military youth.

Position Overview

In the Kids Rank Entrepreneurial Program, the Program Lead guides military youth through the process of launching and running a product-based business. You will mentor children in areas such as Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Leadership while using our dedicated curriculum to develop their business fundamentals. This role involves weekly group sessions from October through May, helping youth build essential business skills along with personal growth traits like public speaking, leadership, and confidence.

Key Responsibilities

Training & Development

  • Attend a minimum of two (2) training sessions and participate in weekly Kids Rank Team meetings.
  • Customize, learn, and implement the Entrepreneurship Curriculum, which outlines the program goals and weekly sessions.
  • Follow established rules and policies to maintain a cohesive and safe learning environment.

Program Facilitation & Relationship Building

  • Lead weekly entrepreneurship group meetings with military youth.
  • Organize interactive activities to build business knowledge and promote personal growth.
  • Collaborate with program mentors and partners to ensure smooth session operations.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Program Lead and children's parents or guardians regarding session activities, behaviors, and updates.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Arrange field trips and additional learning opportunities that reinforce program goals and expand business concepts.

Required Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • Experience working with children in an educational or mentorship setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills—with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
  • Prior experience promoting Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) techniques or working in a related field.
  • Degree, certification, or completed coursework in child development, mental health, or a related discipline.

Nice-to-Have:

  • A background in marketing.
  • Military experience or connection to military families.
  • Patience, strong organizational abilities, adaptability, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience in teamwork or leadership roles.

Why Join Kids Rank?

Kids Rank offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of military-connected youth. As an Entrepreneur Program Lead, you'll not only help shape future business leaders but also gain valuable experience in program facilitation, relationship building, and youth development—all while contributing to a mission-driven organization.
