Overview:

TRC Companies, Inc., a pioneer in groundbreaking scientific and engineering services, is seeking a full-time Environmental Planner to join our Permitting, Planning and Licensing team in Concord, CA.

Responsibilities:

The position requires a strong technical background in environmental science and will include:

  • Working as part of a team of planners and natural resource specialists, which includes responding to requests from technical team leaders and developing technical documents.
  • Supporting client account leaders and program directors to assist in supporting projects and portfolios of projects for Tier 1 clients.
  • Supporting strategic planning efforts for new sector offerings in California based on the direction of senior management.
  • Participating in conferences and other client events as requested by management.
  • Supporting field efforts under the supervision of senior staff and reviewing/summarizing field data.
  • Work with program managers on strategic pursuits.
  • Coordinating with project managers and upper management in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Attending meetings with clients as needed and following up on any assigned tasks.
  • Preparing reports and other technical documents.
  • Performing additional tasks as directed by management regarding strategic pursuits and proposal development.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural resources, biology, ecology, or a related field.
  • Strong ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal communication and technical communication skills are mandatory, along with the ability to maintain a positive attitude working under aggressive schedules.
  • The ability to prepare clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondence, and other written materials.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of GIS relevant to environmental projects.
  • Experience writing CEQA and NEPA documents
  • Experience evaluating existing or proposed projects for impacts to the environment, necessary permit procedures and potential fatal flaws (due diligence).

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
