Maintenance Technician

As the Maintenance Technician you are responsible for installation, troubleshooting, repair, and upkeep of the residential properties. You will complete your work orders with a sense of urgency and a high quality of work. You will maintain a professional appearance and will positively interact with residents, owners, and team members to provide an exceptional resident experience.

What you will do

  • Processing work orders in a timely manner
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing and minor repair in areas including but not limited to, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting, appliance, dry wall, carpentry, and landscaping
  • Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to perform required and preventative maintenance and service
  • Using a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Preparing residential units for timely turnover by making necessary repairs
  • Communicating with Maintenance Administrator on status or issues with work orders
  • Reporting property issues or required repairs on SLACK
  • Rotating on-call availability for emergency calls after hours, weekends and holidays
  • Detecting faulty operations and defective material and reporting those and any unusual situations to the Property Manager
  • Complying with safety regulations and maintaining clean and orderly work areas
  • Performing other work-related duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities you will need

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Minimum 2 years of experience and skills in one or more technical areas including: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliance repair, carpentry, and drywall
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle license and willingness to operate personal motor vehicle in the course of employment required
  • Must have own tools and a smart phone
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and explosives. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, on some instances this job may require work in areas where ear protection is necessary.
