Our Client is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support initiatives across network management, cloud administration, virtualization and technical support. The ideal person will have:
- Over 10 years designing, configuring, and maintaining network systems, including VLAN, LAN, WAN, and remote access technologies.
- Managed servers, workstations, and software applications to ensure performance and security.
- Provided Tier 2 support to resolve employee hardware and software issues.
- Supported IT projects including system migrations, software upgrades, and new technology implementations.
- Maintained detailed documentation for systems, processes, and procedures to support operational continuity and compliance.
- Coordinated with third-party vendors for the procurement of hardware, software, and IT services.
- Monitored system performance and implemented optimizations to ensure stability and efficiency.
- Contributed to product and technology evaluations, including proof of concept (POC) implementations.
- Participated in an on-call support rotation, providing assistance during evenings and weekends.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in IT systems engineering, network administration, or a similar technical role.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Working knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, SD-LAN, DNS, DHCP, and experience with routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Exposure to virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with cloud environments, especially AWS and Microsoft Azure/M365.
- Salary dependent on experience: $100-180k.
