Position: Assist Manager

About Us:

We are a newly opened indoor play center in West Roxbury, MA, committed to providing a clean, safe, and enjoyable environment for children and families. We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Assist Manager to lead daily operations, coordinate teams, and ensure consistent service quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily operational activities, including front desk operations, floor staff coverage, and cleaning schedules, ensuring smooth execution across all areas
  • Develop, implement, and monitor operational procedures related to safety, cleanliness, and customer experience, and continuously evaluate effectiveness and compliance
  • Lead onboarding and ongoing training initiatives to ensure team members understand procedures, quality standards, and service expectations
  • Coordinate birthday parties and private events, including scheduling, resource allocation, staff assignment, and on-site execution
  • Identify, document, and address operational risks, including safety concerns, staffing gaps, and service disruptions, and implement preventative measures when needed
  • Monitor service quality and operational performance, collect feedback, and recommend improvements to ownership
  • Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback professionally, maintaining positive relationships with customers and supporting the center's public-facing reputation
  • Complete administrative and documentation tasks, including staff scheduling, payroll review, incident reporting, and operational records
  • Collaborate with ownership and leadership on special initiatives, process improvements, and operational projects as assigned

Work Schedule:

  • 20-40 hours per week
  • Must work from store opening to closing on weekends
  • Availability required on Fridays, weekends, and holidays
  • This is a hands-on, on-site leadership role requiring full-time presence

Qualifications:

  • Experience in operations, supervision, or management in a customer-facing environment
  • Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and evaluate operational workflows
  • Experience training, guiding, and coordinating teams
  • Ability to identify issues, assess risk, and implement solutions in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Background in retail, hospitality, childcare, or family entertainment is highly preferred
  • English fluency required
  • Bilingual is a plus
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
