AMHERST Producrement Officer Responsible for administering and

overseeing the Town\'s procurement functions to ensure compliance with

state and local requirements. Provides guidance on and manages all

phases of the procurement process for goods, services, and construction,

including solicitation, bid administration, contract preparation, and

records management. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associates Degree in

Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or related

field PLUS four (4) to six (6) years\' experience in

purchasing/procurement, contract administration, project management, or

business operations; OR equivalent combination of education and

experience demonstrating the ability to successfully perform the

responsibilities of the position Knowledge of laws relating to municipal

government purchasing/procurement (e.g., Uniform Procurement Act and

other procurement laws and regulations) Strong written and verbal

communication skills Understanding of obligations of confidentiality

Professionalism and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders

Ability to handle multiple, important projects and deadlines

simultaneously and ability to prioritize appropriately Strong time and

project management abilities Thoroughness and attention to detail

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Designation as a Massachusetts Certified Public

Purchasing Official, or the ability to obtain full certification within

one (1) year of employment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Municipal work
