Job Title: Applications Solution Architect

Location: Charlotte, NC

Duration: Full time.

Overview:

The Solution Architect is responsible for designing and delivering end-to-end technology solutions that align with business objectives and enterprise architecture standards. This role bridges the gap between business needs and technical implementation, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Define solution architecture for programs and projects, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards.
• Conduct feasibility and impact analysis for proposed solutions.
• Develop architecture artifacts such as:
• Initial Design Approach (IDeA/POV)
• Solution Architecture Document (SAD)
• Data Flow Diagrams (DFD)
• Threat Models
• Provide guidance throughout the solution lifecycle, from ideation to delivery.
• Support Agile planning, estimation, and readiness assessments.
• Ensure compliance with security, governance, and cloud standards.
• Advise on technology platforms, integration patterns, and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles and frameworks.
• Expertise in designing complex, distributed systems.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) and governance practices.
• Familiarity with banking or financial applications (preferred).
• Merchant Service experience not required (but big +)
• Ability to create and review architectural artifacts.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Experience - Sr. Architect

• For 10+ years in IT architecture or solution design roles.
• Experience leading complex discussions between stakeholders
• Proficiency with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Experience in threat modeling and security compliance.

OR

Preferred Experience - Architect

• For 7+ years in IT architecture or solution design roles.
• Experience participating in complex discussions between stakeholders
• Proficiency with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Experience in threat modeling and security compliance.
