Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Fleet Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and industrial equipment. Your expertise will ensure our fleet operates safely and efficiently, supporting our commitment to dependable transportation services.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension components, and HVAC systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and shock & strut replacements.
  • Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems, lighting, and electronic controls on heavy equipment and farm machinery.
  • Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet operational needs.
  • Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document repairs accurately in compliance with safety standards.
  • Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely during repair or testing procedures.
  • Assist with assembly or disassembly of machinery components as needed for repair or upgrades.

Qualifications

  • Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engines and heavy equipment repair.
  • Dealership experience is highly preferred for familiarity with manufacturer-specific systems such as Caterpillar or other industrial brands.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of transmissions, brakes (including air brake systems), hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC components.
  • Skilled in automotive diagnostics using schematics and electronic testing tools.
  • Experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate equipment such as forklifts or excavators during maintenance tasks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $35.00 per hour
