About the Role

Copilot Net LLC is seeking a skilled OSP (Outside Plant) Design Engineer to join our team at our Allen, Texas office. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of fiber network design, OSP construction standards, and industry best practices. This is a hands-on, on-site role supporting engineering, drafting, permitting, and project implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and update OSP fiber network designs, drawings, and documentation.
  • Develop fiber routes, pole line designs, conduit layouts, and splice plans.
  • Work with internal teams on field data, survey information, and construction needs.
  • Prepare work prints, BOMs, permits, and engineering packages.
  • Ensure designs meet industry codes, safety standards, and customer specifications.
  • Coordinate with municipalities, utilities, and contractors.
  • Support construction teams during build-out and troubleshoot design conflicts.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of OSP engineering or fiber design experience.
  • Strong understanding of OSP standards, aerial/underground design, and NESC.
  • Experience with design tools (AutoCAD, GIS platforms, OSP design software, etc.).
  • Ability to read construction drawings, maps, as-builts, and splice diagrams.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work on-site daily in Allen, TX.

  • Experience with fiber broadband projects (FTTH/FTTx).
  • Knowledge of permitting processes and utility pole attachment rules.
  • Familiarity with telecom work prints and construction field support.
