Foundry Caster

JOB SUMMARY:

Sets up and operates permanent mold casting machines to cast quality parts.

2nd Shift Foundry Schedule: 2:45pm - 12:45am, Monday - Thursday (with scheduled overtime as needed)

• PAID WEEKLY
• 2nd Shift Offers a $2.50/hour Shift Premium

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Following process sheets for procedures running permanent mold casting machines
• Pouring liquid aluminum into molds using a hand ladle
• Regulating and monitoring furnace temperatures
• Handling all mold treatments and placing of cores
• Cleaning and coating molds
• Inspecting castings for defects
• Assisting other casters as needed
• Maintaining a clean work station

. Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

. Must have at least 6 months prior manufacturing experience

• Must be fluent using a computer
• Must be able to read and understand English language

. Must be able to stand for 10 hours per day

. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis

. Must be able to work in a hot environment

• Must have reliable transportation

. Must be able to read gauges

. Must be able to wear eye and hearing protection and other job specific personal protective equipment as required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 6 months previous experience in a foundry environment
• Ability to understand basic math and shop arithmetic
• Print reading and measuring procedures
• Ability to work individually or as part of a team
• Enthusiastic, cooperative and positive behavior
