Health Economics, Inc. (BHE) is a leading research and consulting firm
specializing in the economic evaluation of pharmaceuticals, medical
devices, disease management programs, and related healthcare
interventions. Our clients include most of the world's leading
pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device manufacturers. Our
staff includes accomplished economists, health services researchers,
clinicians, and business professionals, many of whom are internationally
recognized.
We conduct creative and innovative research studies, most of
which are geared toward publication in peer-review journals. BHE staff
members have the opportunity to work across several groups within the
company, including Data Analytics, Health Economics, and Modeling.
Our continued growth has created opportunities at several levels. We currently are accepting applications for a Senior Healthcare Analyst/Project Manager.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong
interest in health economics and experience or an advanced degree in a
field such as economics, epidemiology, biostatistics, or health services
research. The candidate should be able to work independently in an
office setting with limited supervision. An ability to interact with
staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under
pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with
a high level of professionalism is crucial to this role at BHE.
Expert-level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision
making abilities, and attention to detail are equally important.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design of data oriented outcomes studies across a wide array of therapeutic areas
- Contribute to the development of research plans and study reports
- Conduct data analyses and manage databases of all types (e.g., claims, surveys, clinical trials)
- Participate in the design of conduct studies to evaluate
the value of new healthcare interventions including pharmaceuticals and
medical devices. Studies may involve decision analytic models,
prospective data from clinical trials, and retrospective claims data - Coordinate with other BHE personnel to ensure the timely
and quality preparation of project deliverables based on the assigned
scope of services - Provide ongoing mentoring and performance feedback for managed team members
- Presentation of research, including dissemination at
scientific conferences and submission of manuscripts to peer-reviewed
scientific journals - Provide proposal content and support of other activities to ensure a high quality, timely proposal submission
- Mentor junior research staff
- Participate in the publication process
Competencies:
- Ability to manage own time and proactively identify prioritized tasks for multiple concurrent projects
- Ability to communicate appropriate status and issues to senior management
- Entrepreneurial spirit, drive, and work ethic for internal initiatives
- Focus on attention to detail
- Demonstrated proficiency with computers, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Requirements
Qualifications:
- An advanced degree in health economics, epidemiology,
biostatistics, health services research or other related field, and/or
5-7 years of relevant job experience - Demonstrated analytical, organizational, creative problem solving, and structured communication skills
- Fluency in English (will be required to write, speak, and understand English to conduct day-to-day business)
- Masters degree in Economics, Health Policy, Epidemiology,
or Biostatistics with 3+ years of experience in research-oriented
healthcare consulting - Strong technical skills
- Proficiency with relevant software (e.g., SAS, Microsoft Excel, decision analysis software)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and management skills
- An interest in publishing
