Our Client, a Global Financial Services Firm, is seeking a Regulatory Implementation Specialist in their New York, NY location.

Risk & Control Inventory Development

  • Translate the control assessment, work taxonomy, and operational processes into a comprehensive Asset Management–specific risk and control inventory.
  • Document key risks, controls, control owners, frequencies, evidence requirements, and monitoring expectations.
  • Standardize naming conventions, taxonomies, and classification in alignment with Corporate Compliance and Corporate Risk frameworks.
  • Ensure completeness of coverage across the investment management lifecycle—including portfolio management, trading, operations, valuation, performance, distribution/marketing, cybersecurity, and third-party oversight.

Compliance Monitoring & Testing Design

  • Develop a risk-based compliance monitoring and testing plan tailored to the Asset Management business.
  • Define control testing scripts, sampling methodologies, frequencies, documentation standards, and escalation criteria.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Compliance teams to align monitoring and testing with enterprise-wide policies.
  • Build dashboards, tracking tools, and reporting templates to support ongoing monitoring activities.

Regulatory & Exam Readiness

  • Prepare exam-ready documentation, including risk and control summaries, testing results, process flows, narratives, control matrices, and remediation evidence.
  • Support responses to internal audit, compliance reviews, and regulatory examinations (e.g., SEC, FINRA, OCC, FRB).
  • Assess regulatory expectations related to asset management (e.g., Advisers Act, compliance program, Form ADV requirements, liquidity, valuation, trade oversight).
  • Perform gap analysis against regulatory feedback, enterprise standards, and peer best practices.

Stakeholder Engagement & Governance

  • Partner with business leads, middle office, operations, technology, Corporate Compliance, and Enterprise Risk Management to validate risks and controls.
  • Facilitate working sessions to socialize control expectations and clarify process ownership.
  • Support the build-out of governance routines—including RCSA updates, KRIs, monitoring dashboards, and issue management tracking.
  • Assist with implementation of new compliance or risk policies and ensure consistent adoption across functional areas.

Gap Identification & Remediation

  • Identify gaps in risk coverage, control design, or monitoring effectiveness across the asset-management workflow.
  • Propose enhancements and partner with stakeholders to implement remediation steps.
  • Document remediation evidence, action plans, owners, and timelines.
  • Align remediation efforts with Compliance and Operational Risk findings.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-7 years of experience in Asset Management, Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Operational Risk, Internal Audit, or related risk/governance functions.
  • Strong understanding of asset-management operations, investment advisory regulations, and risk/control frameworks.
  • Experience with compliance programs such as SEC Advisers Act Rule , surveillance programs, monitoring/testing, and governance routines.
  • Demonstrated ability to create risk and control inventories, testing plans, and regulatory documentation.
  • Ability to interface with senior stakeholders and translate complex regulatory requirements into operational procedures.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Visio (or similar process-mapping tools), and risk/compliance platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting regulatory exams (SEC, FINRA, OCC, FRB).
  • Experience working within a large global financial institution or enterprise risk environment.
  • Familiarity with RCSA methodologies, issue management tools, and compliance monitoring systems.
  • Background in asset-management product governance, data governance, or operational controls.
