In this role, you will:

  • Assist with patient preparation and recovery during surgical and dental procedures
  • Maintain detailed and accurate medical records
  • Support exam room workflow by assisting with outpatient care, patient handling, and preparing for appointments
  • Communicate with clients during check-in, review treatment plans, provide discharge instructions, and address questions with empathy and clarity
  • Collaborate with your team to anticipate needs, maintain an efficient schedule, and uphold the highest standards of patient care

This position is ideal for Veterinary Assistants who thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and enjoy engaging with both clients and patients.

Flexible part-time hours:

  • Tuesday and Thursday mornings, and all day Friday

Full-time benefits and compensation**:

  • Compensation: $18-20 per hour, for each hour worked*

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

Abel Pet Clinic is a well-established, full-service, veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care to Elk Grove residents for more than 20 years We strive to provide stress free visits to cats, dogs, and exotic pets in our community and have consistently been voted the #1 veterinarian in Sacramento Valley (KCRA's A-List). Our 2-doctor team is delighted to provide exceptional services and works closely with board certified specialists in the area, including radiologists, ultrasonographers, orthopedic and soft tissue surgeons, and cardiologists. Our facility itself is located one mile from I-5 and well equipped with two exam rooms, an in-hospital surgery suite, digital radiology, laser therapy, endoscope, and a closely supervised hospitalization area.
