Summary of Job Duties:The Associate Director for Greek Housing advances the mission of the university by fostering a vibrant, safe, and well-maintained Greek residential community. This role directly enhances student experience and overall campus life through strategic leadership, operational management, and strong partnerships with stakeholders.
The Associate Director for Greek Housing serves as the central liaison between fraternity and sorority chapters, Greek Housing Corporations, University Housing, and key campus partners. This role provides strategic oversight of university-managed Greek housing by coordinating daily operations such as budgeting, occupancy processes, and communication regarding facility needs. The Associate Director helps ensure timely response to housing concerns by facilitating collaboration with University Housing, FAMA, vendors, and service providers. This position also supports long-term planning discussions related to space needs, capital improvements, and overall facility priorities. Regular walkthroughs, relationship building, and proactive problem-solving are core components of the role, along with supervising Greek housing staff and managing operational budgets to ensure alignment with departmental goals.
Evening and occasional weekend work may be required to support the needs of the Greek residential community.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in a related field (e.g., Higher Education, Student Affairs, Health Education, Business, or similar) from an accredited institution of higher education
At least two years of experience in housing or facilities operations, including responsibilities such as budget management, contract administration, and coordination of capital improvement projects or similar operational functions
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in or with Greek organizations, such as employment with a fraternity/sorority headquarters or in a university housing or Greek life office
Experience coordinating residential or facility-related maintenance issues
Experience serving in an on-call capacity for emergencies, facilities issues, or crisis response
Background in design, construction, or facilities management, with progressive experience in housing operations, maintenance, or capital project oversight
Experience supervising part-time and/or full-time employee
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of residential or student housing operations, including occupancy processes and basic maintenance coordination
Understanding of budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting
Effective organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple requests and deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to interpret and apply university policies, housing standards, and safety procedures
