Job Overview:

We're looking for a dedicated Educational Instructors for our Creative Transitions program. Located at Eastern and Western Tri-C campuses in Parma, OH, and Tri-C Campus in Highland Heights, OH. Post secondary educator for students with developmental disabilities in a college setting The Educational Instructor teaches and assists our clients with developmental disabilities in their endeavors of higher education, under the direction of the Academic Director.

Duties:

  • Assists with appropriate lessons, student worksheets, and other evidence-based activities.
  • Works with students with organizational supports and academic assistance and tutoring.
  • Works collaboratively with college staff and professors, Student Services Department and other college programs.
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to students based on their learning needs.
  • Monitors student behaviors and supports any disciplinary rules and actions mentioned in company guidelines and college Student Handbook.
  • Staff must be willing to provide transportation in company vehicle for the individuals to participate in community integration and /or to and from the day site.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or Special Education preferred or background in developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Adaptability and strong organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent resource management, computer, record keeping, interpersonal, decision making, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Patience and compassion when dealing with others, especially those with disabilities, who are sick, injured, elderly, or from diverse backgrounds.
  • Willingness to adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
  • Physical finesses, ability to walk, stand, lift, or meet other physical demands
  • Open availability for 10:00am - 5:00pm Monday through Friday
