Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will what experience across various specialties, including critical care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and outpatient settings. This role involves providing comprehensive patient assessments, managing acute and chronic conditions, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional care. Proficiency with electronic health records such as Epic, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks is essential. The Nurse Practitioner will also be involved in medical documentation, diagnostic evaluation, medication administration, and patient education within a variety of clinical environments including hospitals, clinics, assisted living facilities, and home care settings.
Duties
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments across diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, neonatal, and adult patients.
- Manage acute pain, perform suturing, catheterization, IV infusion/insertion, and ventilator management.
- Administer injections such as botulinum toxin treatments and dermal fillers; perform esthetic laser treatments as applicable.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, and Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation and coding (ICD-9/10, CPT).
- Coordinate diagnostic evaluations including sonography and laboratory specimen collection/processing.
- Provide specialized care in areas such as infectious disease management, hospice & palliative medicine, memory care, Alzheimer's care, and behavioral health.
- Participate in telehealth consultations and utilize telemedicine platforms for remote patient management.
- Engage in discharge planning, case management, utilization review/management, and health coaching to optimize patient outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols while maintaining sterile techniques during procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians in hospital medicine units such as ICU (including PICU), Level I/II trauma centers, surgical units (OR experience), and outpatient clinics.
- Assist with family planning services and post-acute care planning for discharged patients.
Experience
- Clinical experience in emergency medicine (ER), ICU/PICU settings or Level I/II trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations), elderly (geriatrics/dementia/dementia care), disabled individuals (developmental disabilities), and those requiring specialized services such as spinal taps or gastric lavage.
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and diagnostic evaluation tools is preferred.
- Skilled in performing advanced procedures such as cardiac catheterization or airway management; experience with dialysis or ventilator management is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology across multiple specialties including internal medicine, family practice, occupational health, hospice/palliative care, and post-acute settings.
- Prior experience using EMR systems like eClinicalWorks or Cerner is required; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/10) and CPT coding is essential for accurate documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams in inpatient or outpatient environments. Pay: From $47.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 – 30.0 per week
