Multi-Modality Technologist 3 (Harmonized) The Jewish Hospital Mercy Health
Job Summary:
The Multi-Modality Technologist 3 performs duties related to three modalities, which may include performing of procedures with related techniques, and/or producing images for the interpretation by, and at the request of, a licensed independent practitioner.
Essential Functions:
- Performs duties for three modalities within the imaging and/or cardiovascular technology job families. (ex: XR, CT, MRI,ARRT, RDMS)
- Meets continuing education or clinical requirements necessary to meet regulatory standards
- Operates equipment, accessories and is knowledgeable in workflows, procedures and processes of three modalities.
- When appropriate, selects imaging/sequences with consideration given to approved protocols and other factors influencing data acquisition parameters.
- Obtains patient's clinical history and appropriate lab work ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner. Use of POC device for Lab work.
- Applies safety principles with a focus on the three modalities to minimize risk to patient, self and others that may affect the patient's safety, damage the equipment or affect the image quality.

Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Associate's degree (preferred) – For imaging modalities, preference is from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institute or of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program or of an approved School of Ultrasound/Medical Sonography
Required Licensing & Certifications:
- Registration with CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) or ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) or ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) (required)
- Required to be competent or registered in 3 of the following and obtain certification within 12 months:
- Bone Densitometry (BD)
- Breast Sonography (BS)
- Radiologic Technology (R)
- Computed Tomography (CT)
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR)
- Ultrasonography (S)
- Nuclear Medicine (N)
- Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV)* grandfathered
- Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI)
- Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI_
- Mammography (M)
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS)
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS)
Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
- BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care; ACLS required prior to direct patient care in Cardiology units)
- State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed)
Experience:
- 1 year of experience in healthcare environment (preferred)
