St. Joseph Parish School is seeking a Kindergarten teacher candidate for the school year. St. Joseph Parish School is located in both Issaquah, WA (preschool through 3rd grade) and Snoqualmie, WA (4th � 8th grade). We have one class per grade with a total of 188 students. The mission of St. Joseph Parish School, in partnership with parents and the parish community, is to form the hearts and minds of children through the example of Jesus Christ. Teacher candidates will work in collaboration with our dynamic and engaging elementary school staff.
Candidates must be practicing Catholics who are committed to sharing our Catholic faith and supporting students in reaching high academic standards. A bachelor's degree is required (preferably in education). A current teaching certificate is preferred; however, we will consider highly motivated candidates who are actively working toward certification. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential. We are seeking a dedicated, mission-driven educator who is eager to be part of a supportive, faith-filled school community.
Successful candidates should:
Collaborate with principal in implementing the mission of the Parish and School. This is accomplished by participating in planning, implementation, and evaluation of the school's goals and objectives. The teacher is a member of the school staff and is a professional resource in designed educational specialties. Participates in regional and deanery collaborative efforts as approved and appropriate.
Assures the planning and implementation of instructional programs and activities that further the Catholic philosophy and goals of the school. The teacher ensures that the classroom atmosphere fosters knowledge of the Catholic faith, development of appropriate ethical choices, Catholic faith development and Christian leadership, and integrates Gospel values in daily classroom activity.
Uses flexible, inclusive instructional strategies and adapts appropriate accommodations to ensure access, engagement, and success for diverse learners.
Establishes and sustains strong partnerships with parents through consistent and meaningful communication.
Assures the selections and organization of curriculum and instruction materials. The teacher adapts methods and materials to accommodate learner difference and plans for both long term and short-term instructional goals.
Assures the development of a process for learning. This is accomplished by presenting a clear description of the learning task and its content. The teacher instructs students, monitors student understanding and reteaches when necessary.
Assures the evaluations of students' progress. This is accomplished through the interpretation of data and the monitoring of classroom performance. The teacher utilizes this information to improve the quality of instruction. The teacher maintains accurate and current individual records of the student's academic progress and shares this information with both the student and the parent.
Assures the creation and maintenance of a positive classroom environment that is conductive to learning. The teacher establishes and maintains appropriate behaviors and develops strategies to resolve conflict using the Positive Discipline and Love & Logic approach.
Assures effective oral and written communication with school administrator, fellow faculty members, parents and students.
Maintains current level of knowledge and skills required to effectively serve as teacher and seeks continuing education through continuing education.

Salary: The salary range for this position is from $58,000-$87,000. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
