How you will create an impact

  • Responsible for adjusting high exposure and complex claims under Directors & Officers policies.

  • Analyze and determine available coverage, work closely with defense counsel in developing defense strategy and monitoring litigation to a successful resolution.

  • Conduct factual investigation of loss noticed.

  • Attend mediations, arbitrations and trials where necessary.

  • Review legal bills and budgets.

  • Provide an in-depth evaluation of exposure, taking into account the factual investigation of the underlying claim and any potential coverage issues, in order to properly set reserves.

  • Make periodic presentations to Senior Claims Management and underwriting counterparts on high profile matters and trends in litigation and claims.

  • Attending account and marketing meetings, where necessary.

What you'll need to succeed

  • 7-10 years of insurance claims or legal experience.

  • D&O experience and/or law degree.

  • Ability to handle a demanding caseload.

  • Strong organization skills with an ability to work independently, prioritize and meet all deadlines.

  • Strong Analytical abilities.

  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills.

  • A team player who can proactively identify trends and risks to assist management and underwriting.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

For positions based in New York City, the base salary range is $125,000 - $178,000. For positions based in Chicago, the base salary range is $125,000 - $173,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
