The role involves delivering personalized care, supporting daily activities, and ensuring safety and comfort in clients' homes. Candidates should have a genuine passion for caregiving, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a home environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Monitor patient health and vital signs, reporting any concerns promptly
  • Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of isolation
  • Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely and effectively
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Observe and document patient conditions, changes, or incidents accurately
  • Follow care plans developed by healthcare professionals, including dementia, Alzheimer's, or hospice care protocols
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards and healthcare regulations

Skills

  • Prior experience in home & community care, assisted living, or long-term care preferred
  • Knowledge of patient observation, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid are encouraged; additional certifications like HIPAA compliance are advantageous
  • Experience working with people with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or memory care needs is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Compassionate nature with patience for working with seniors or individuals with special needs
  • Ability to work independently during weekend and third-shift hours while maintaining high-quality care standards
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and stand for extended periods
