Overview
Happy to Help Caregiving is seeking compassionate and dedicated In-Home Caregivers to provide exceptional care to clients in Cuyahoga County. This position offers weekend and third-shift opportunities, ideal for individuals committed to making a positive difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities. The role involves delivering personalized care, supporting daily activities, and ensuring safety and comfort in clients' homes. Candidates should have a genuine passion for caregiving, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a home environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health and vital signs, reporting any concerns promptly
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of isolation
- Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely and effectively
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Observe and document patient conditions, changes, or incidents accurately
- Follow care plans developed by healthcare professionals, including dementia, Alzheimer's, or hospice care protocols
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and healthcare regulations
Skills
- Prior experience in home & community care, assisted living, or long-term care preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Certification in CPR and First Aid are encouraged; additional certifications like HIPAA compliance are advantageous
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or memory care needs is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Compassionate nature with patience for working with seniors or individuals with special needs
- Ability to work independently during weekend and third-shift hours while maintaining high-quality care standards
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and stand for extended periods
