Forsyth Community Clinic (FCC) is a 501-(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing free basic health and wellness services to uninsured adult residents of Forsyth County, Georgia. The clinic offers no-cost, non-emergent health care services to low-income and indigent residents aged 18 years or older. FCC is funded through grants, contributions, and support from other non-profits, foundations, and the Forsyth County community. Working in collaboration with the broader healthcare network, including local hospitals, health centers, and the county health department, FCC ensures access to healthcare as a bridge to wellness and improved quality of life for all residents. FCC is a member of the National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics and the Georgia Charitable Care Network.

Role Summary

Forsyth Community Clinic is seeking a compassionate and dedicated 
Part-Time Registered

Nurse (RN)
 to join our team at a community-based free clinic. The RN will play a critical role in

supporting underserved populations by providing high-quality, patient-centered care in

collaboration with a team of volunteer and staff healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Organize & provide orientation & skills testing for clinical support staff, including

nurses,phlebotomist & medical assistants

  • Conduct patient triage, including vital signs, health history, and symptom assessment
  • Assist in the diagnosis and treatment of common acute and chronic conditions
  • Administer basic wound care as directed
  • Serve as the clinical liaison between patients and volunteer providers, ensuring patients lab results are reviewed and communicated, medication refills are provided, and any additional patient health-related questions are addressed in a timely fashion
  • Educate patients on disease prevention, medication usage, and general wellness
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other clinic staff to coordinate care
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming clinic environment
  • Order supplies to ensure providers & other support staff have tools necessary to provide care based on scope of practice
  • Participate in clinic quality improvement
  • Provide guidance and support to nursing students or volunteers, as applicable

Qualifications

  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of nursing experience in a clinical setting (community health or outpatient preferred)
  • CPR/BLS certification
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfortable working with diverse populations, including uninsured and underserved individuals
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience with EHR systems preferred
  • Bilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish/English) a plus
