Inventory Control Specialist

SUMMARY:
The position is responsible for managing and maintaining PTK site inventory levels (FG's/RM's @ WH10, WH20, & ADS), analyzing inventory data, ensuring compliance to inventory control procedures/policies, controlling FIFO with logistical & operational teams, as well as the overall accuracy of inventory records. This role with work directly with all manufacturing departments including but not limited to shipping & receiving, operations, quality, R&D, and procurement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels and order/shipping trends to ensure that goals are met and inventory is always available while maintaining FIFO
- Develop, implement, and update inventory control procedures and policies to minimize losses and reduce costs. Includes facilitating training to departments as needed.
- Accurately record and document inventory data (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually)
- Provide guidance and leadership to all cross functional teams to ensure minimal loss/write offs
- Assist procurement department/customer service team on inventory levels as needed.
- Review inventory records and transactions for accuracy
- Track inventory levels and report on any changes or trends
- Work directly with shipping/receiving and operations team on Ross procedures and maintaining accurate inventory per PTK policies.
- Prepare and submit reports to management as directed by manager
- Partner with and provide cross-functional accountability to Procurement, Production, External Warehouses, Customer Service and other applicable groups to achieve business objectives.
- Ensure that goods inward/stock control department is well organized and controlled to sufficiently support production and the goals of the business.
- Train, explain and hold people accountable to the Traceability and recovery process using ERP system.
- Provide management with the information on inventory performance using KPIs and root cause analysis.
- Perform inventory cycle counts using ABC count codes for items.
- Perform a timed Food Safety Trace Exercise during the BRC, and other food safety audits, up to 9-12 per year companywide.
- Ensure integrity and accuracy of the stock management system.
- Perform and assist in semiannual physical counts of all of the outside warehouses.
- Manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed, and resolved.
- Perform other duties as required to support supply chain and operational objectives.
- Achieve a minimum of 95% inventory record accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- B.S. or B.A. in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or Operations Management preferred; Or 2 or more years' experience in combination of Warehousing, Receiving, Inventory Control, and Materials Management in a manufacturing environment
- A minimum of 2 years working experience in Operations, Supply Chain, Scheduling and Warehouse and Transportation.
- Must be able to work in a team environment cordially and effectively, as well as having the ability to lead a team.
- Possess a relevant professional qualification and/or suitable background experience in Inventory Management/Purchasing/Supply Chain.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Warehouse Management System (WMS), and Logistics execution utilizing business tools.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles related to FIFO. Ability to balance WIP (Work in Progress) and JIT (Just in Time) warehouse locations
- Advanced Skills in Microsoft Excel for reporting and tracking write offs and reason codes.
- Must always exhibit a high level of flexibility and an ability to multi-task
- Must be able to work with little or no supervision
- Must possess good reasoning and problem-solving abilities
- Must have the ability to work as a 'link person' or middle person amongst customers, employees, and vendors
- Experience with FSMA
- Skilled in DOT rules and regulations
- Experience of lean manufacturing, Kanban and kaizen continuous improvement or similar production tools within a high-volume, high-quality manufacturing facility.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for a demanding and customer focused working environment.
- Excellent personal organization and business administration skills in accordance with modern best practice methods
- Ability to work productively, efficiently, and effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
