Description

Trout CPA is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to support multistate payroll processing, lead payroll system implementations, and provide expert guidance to clients across a variety of industries. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys solving complex payroll challenges, working directly with clients, and ensuring accuracy and compliance in every process. 

Description  

  • Manage multistate payroll processing with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. 
  • Serve as a payroll advisor—supporting clients with compliance questions, wage/hour issues, and best practices. 
  • Resolve payroll tax notices and collaborate with tax agencies to ensure compliance at the federal, state, and local levels. 
  • Conduct payroll audits, reconciliations, and assessments to identify discrepancies and improve workflows. 
  • Lead new client payroll system implementations and ensure seamless onboarding. 
  • Troubleshoot and maintain payroll systems to safeguard data integrity. 

Requirements
  • 3+ years of payroll experience, including multistate payroll. 
  • FPC required; CPP preferred. 
  • Strong experience with Gusto, ADP RUN, Paylocity, Evolution – Inova, and payroll tax reporting tools. 
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort with HRIS/timekeeping integrations. 
  • Strong analytical, communication, and client service skills.
