Now, we're entering a new phase of growth and are looking for a Staff Accountant to strengthen our financial operations, enhance compliance, and provide strategic support across the organization.
What You'll Do
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate transactions, vendor management, negotiation of terms, and payment authorization.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany transactions.
- Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger in accordance with GAAP.
- Develop, implement, and refine Finance department policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Assist with year-end audit and tax reporting.
- Manage and maintain balance sheet schedules, reconciliations, fixed asset records, and accrual processes.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyze data to support decision-making and operational planning.
- Partner with Finance team members on complex accounting projects and strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain to match inventory receipts with POs and invoices. ,
- Exercise independent judgment in evaluating financial data, identifying variances, and recommending improvements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3 to 5 years' progressive accounting experience, including AP, AR, billing functions, month-end close, and financial reporting / analysis.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP reporting requirements.
- 2 + years' experience with NetSuite.
- Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments.
Preferred
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working at a government contractor.
- Background in startup or high-growth company environments.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about regularly throughout the day. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Must have manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, copier). Must be capable of extended periods of computer-based work, including data entry and financial analysis.
Work Environment
This position typically operates in a professional office environment, with occasional interaction in a manufacturing setting. The role requires regular use of standard office equipment and may occasionally involve exposure to elevated noise levels when in the manufacturing area. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime based on operations demand. This is a fast-paced environment requiring cross-departmental collaboration as well as independent execution of responsibilities.
ITAR Requirement
In compliance with International Traffic Arms Regulations (ITAR), candidates must be U.S. Citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents (Green Card holders) or individuals granted asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
