The Role: Account Executive – OT Software, Services, and Support

This is a hunter position. You'll focus on prospecting, qualifying, and closing net new business—bringing fresh logos into the Rain Corporation family. You'll drive revenue by selling OT software and related services including MES, SCADA, HMI, and Historian solutions into industrial and manufacturing environments.

Working closely with technical, delivery, and customer success teams, you'll shape solutions that align with customer operations, compliance, and performance goals.

What You'll Do

  • Hunt for new business opportunities by prospecting and qualifying net new logos in your assigned territory for MES, SCADA, HMI, Historian, and related services and support.
  • Lead discovery conversations to understand customer processes, pain points, and operational objectives across plant operations, engineering, and IT/OT teams.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from first contact through proposal, negotiation, and close—owning the entire process for new customer acquisition.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, delivery, and support teams to scope solutions, build compelling proposals, and ensure smooth handoff into implementation.
  • Grow strategic accounts through renewals, expansions, and cross-sell of additional OT software and service offerings once relationships are established.
  • Maintain pipeline discipline with accurate forecasting and account documentation in the CRM.
  • Share market intelligence by proactively providing feedback and ideas to refine offerings, messaging, and go-to-market approach.

Who You Are

  • Experienced hunter with a proven track record in B2B sales, ideally in industrial software, automation, or OT environments (MES, SCADA, HMI, Historian, or similar).
  • Confident relationship builder who can engage plant managers, operations leaders, manufacturing engineers, automation managers, and IT/OT stakeholders.
  • Consultative seller skilled in solution-based selling and translating technical capabilities into business value and ROI.
  • Team player who thrives in a collaborative, feedback-driven, high-accountability environment.
  • Self-motivated and organized with the ability to manage multiple complex opportunities simultaneously while maintaining focus on net new business development.
  • Strong communicator (written and verbal) who builds trust and long-term relationships with customers and internal teams.

Territory Definitions

Candidates must live in the territory they support; relocation assistance is not provided by Rain Corporation.

We're hiring for the following territories based on manufacturing concentration and industrial density:

Southeast Growth Region

States: North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky

Focus: Automotive, aerospace, chemicals, textiles, Food and Beverage, and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG). Rapidly growing manufacturing region with significant automotive and aerospace investments.

Additional territories may be defined based on business growth and market opportunities.

How We Hire

Step 3: Hiring Manager Interview Minutes)

You'll have a deeper conversation with your future direct manager focused on values, culture fit, and discussing the ideal test project to get the ball rolling.

Step 4: Final Call with CEO

You'll have a conversation with our CEO to discuss vision, strategy, and long-term opportunities.

Step 7: Offer

If we're both excited about moving forward, you'll receive an official offer. We move fast when it's the right fit.

Full-Time Position

This is a core, full-time role at Rain Corporation and is not open to manufacturer reps or agencies. The Account Executive is a key member of the commercial team and a long-term partner to strategic customers.
