Duties

  • Control access to the residential property by verifying residents, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel
  • Monitor CCTV systems and alarm panels to detect suspicious activity and prevent unauthorized access
  • Conduct regular foot or vehicle patrols of buildings, parking areas, and common spaces
  • Respond promptly to incidents, disturbances, or resident concerns, using conflict management skills to de-escalate situations
  • Assist with loss prevention by monitoring for vandalism, theft, or property damage
  • Provide first aid or CPR when required to ensure the health and safety of residents and visitors
  • Coordinate with property management, law enforcement, or emergency services during incidents
  • Complete accurate incident reports and maintain daily security logs

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of residential security systems, including CCTV, access control, and perimeter checks
  • Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military service is an asset
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to perform first aid and CPR confidently in emergency situations
  • Understanding of loss prevention strategies and residential security protocols
  • Knowledge of legal guidelines related to security operations and incident documentation
  • Ability to remain alert, professional, and approachable during extended shifts
