Marine HVAC and Systems Technician

We are seeking a full time technician to join our team. Must have experience with marine systems. We sell, service, and install AC Systems, Refrigeration, Watermakers, Electrosea Systems, Cooling Towers, Plumbing and Vessel Systems. Most work will be performed on vessels larger than 42 feet. Extensive electrical experience is not required but will be highly valuable for this position and our team.

Must provide tools (tool bags, crimpers, strippers, screw drivers, sockets/ratchets, wrenches, soldering iron, Powered Hand Tools, etc.) to complete any of the listed services in job description . We provide specialized tools and test equipment.

Must be able to perform physical work (ex., ability to lift 50 Lbs, Squat, Small Spaces, Etc.)

Must have electrical knowledge and be able to troubleshoot both AC and DC voltages.

Must have basic carpentry skills and able to use tools for cutting material.

Must be self-motivated and able to work as a team or on your own .

Must be able to read and understand basic drawings

Must be able to follow directions from supervisor and manufacturers

Must represent Boca Marine Technology with excellent customer service skills, clean attire and a good attitude.

Position is Full-Time - Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM. Weekend work is available, but not required. We work throughout Orange Beach, Gulf shores, Elberta and Pensacola. Some travel may be required to New Orleans, Mississippi, Destin and Panama City. 60% of work will be performed onsite at Pensacola Marine Center.

Hourly wage and company vehicle is based on experience/qualifications.

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)
  • Certificates for marine related manufacturers, processes and standards (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Required)
  • ABYC Certificate(s) (Preferred)
  • HVAC Certificate (Required)
  • NMEA Installer Certificate(s) (Preferred)
  • Electronics Manufacturer Certificate(s) (Preferred)
  • Electrical Certification(s) (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems aboard marine vessels, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to facilitate accurate installations and repairs.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects and adherence to deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate records of service performed and parts used.
