Electrical Construction Project Engineer
Experience: 2+ years in electrical construction OR a degree in Construction Management (or related field)
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Electrical Construction Project Engineer to support our project management team on commercial and industrial electrical projects. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to learn, grow, and contribute to the successful planning and execution of complex electrical construction work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with daily project coordination, scheduling, and documentation.

  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, and submittals for accuracy and compliance.

  • Track project progress, material deliveries, change orders, and cost impacts.

  • Support field teams by identifying issues, coordinating solutions, and ensuring timely communication.

  • Maintain project logs, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and closeout documentation.

  • Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to support efficient project execution.

  • Conduct site walks to verify progress, quality, safety, and adherence to electrical plans.

  • Help prepare project reports, schedules, and forecasts.

  • Support estimating efforts by gathering takeoffs and assisting with bid documents when needed.

Qualifications

  • EITHER:

    • 2+ years of experience in electrical construction or a similar role OR

    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction processes, and project operations.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; exposure to project management or estimating software is a plus.

  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment and collaborate with field teams.

  • Valid driver's license; ability to travel to project sites as needed.
