Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Manager to be the first hire for our brand-new coffee and pastry shop. As the Coffee Shop Manager, you'll lead the daily operations of a bustling coffee shop dedicated to delivering exceptional customer experiences. In this energetic role, you'll oversee staff, manage food and beverage quality, ensure smooth service flow, and uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. Your leadership will inspire a motivated team while fostering a warm, welcoming environment for all guests.

Pay Range: $24 to $27 + shared tips

Performance Bonus: Annual bonus based on café performance

Hospitality

  • Hospitality means caring for the little things, and going the extra mile for the customers. Welcoming them, asking them what brings them to the shop, making recommendations, remembering their names. After they are seated, asking them how they like their meal and what we can improve.
  • The Manager is responsible for building and maintaining the welcoming experience for all guests and team members.
  • Hire, train, motivate, and inspire others to have fun and create a better experience with every transaction.
  • Customers come for the meals, but stay for the experience.

Store Operations

  • Performs all store duties, front and back-of-house functions including opening and closing procedures; filling in to help team members during shifts.
  • Learn and enforce all drink recipes and procedures, maintaining the highest quality and consistent product standards.
  • Promotes and practices safe work habits, reporting potential safety hazards, operational inconsistencies, and team member incidents to the store manager.

Supervision, leading, and management

  • Ensures that all team members are educated on our products and services, by developing an understanding of our various types of coffee, tea products, baked goods, and meals.
  • Take time to learn about the team, make a fun, safe environment where team members can deliver high results without feeling constant pressure.
  • Consistently monitors, coaches, and encourages team members to meet the Company service standards.

Inventory & Cleanliness

  • Label expiration dates or purchase dates on goods and materials in inventory.
  • Count all backstock inventory bi-weekly, placing orders as needed or picking up orders from vendors.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
