Sr. Java Cloud Engineer.
Summary
While this role will primarily focus on full-stack development and delivery, experience in front-end development is a plus. Responsibilities include contributing to the architecture and technology roadmap, mentoring junior developers, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product owners and customers to develop innovative solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Review and analyze business and technical requirements and then implement technical solutions to fulfill those requirements.
  • Create unit tests as part of continuous development practices.
  • Fix bugs and support the QA, UAT, and production phases of releases.
  • Foster and apply an Agile mindset to enable high-performing teams.

Requirements

  • Software Engineer with 6+ years of full-stack development in Java, Python, AWS Cloud, and SQL.
  • Proficiency with Git (merging, conflicts, cherry picking).
  • Experience creating modern CI/CD pipelines using DevOps tools (i.e., Gitlab).
  • Knowledge of AWS Services & Security Best Practices.
  • Experience with Cloud networking across numerous accounts, environments, and vendors including zero trust principles.
  • Solid understanding of API infrastructure and development including associated tools and best practices.

Preferred

  • Extensive experience with using Apache Spark for large-scale data processing.
  • Familiarity with optimizing AWS Glue jobs for performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Proficiency with PySpark including DataFrames, Spark SQL, and Spark Streaming.
  • Experience with orchestration tools including Apache Airflow.
  • Experience in front-end development

This is a 4-month Contract opportunity with our Kansas City, MO client.
