Finance Associate

Houston, TX (Hybrid)

Piper Maddox is partnered with a Houston-based renewable energy company that develops, owns, and operates large-scale battery energy storage projects across the United States. The company is building a best-in-class platform centered around great people and top-tier projects that accelerate the energy transition.

We are seeking a Finance Associate. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to all aspects of project finance, M&A, and investment analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate investment decisions for battery energy storage system projects.
  • Conduct scenario analysis to support project development, EPC and supply decisions, and operational cost forecasting.
  • Lead project finance analysis, including structuring and supporting debt and tax credit financings.
  • Manage due diligence activities and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support M&A efforts through opportunity screening, financial modeling, and acquisition execution.
  • Prepare investment committee and Board materials, summarizing financial outcomes and recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of professional experience in finance roles within the energy, infrastructure, or renewables sectors.
  • Proven expertise in financial modeling in project finance, M&A, or tax equity transactions.
