Position Summary:

The Taiho Oncology, Inc. Commercial Group seeks a highly organized, detail-oriented, personable, intelligent, and dedicated Operations and Planning team member. The Director, Commercial Operations & Planning, will lead cross-functional projects that implement Taiho's commercial strategy. The Director will work closely with internal teams, senior stakeholders and global affiliates to coordinate product launches, optimize operations, and support strategic decision-making. This is a high-visibility position with exposure to commercial operations across the U.S., Canada, EU, UK, and Switzerland. This person must be able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and execute projects efficiently. The Director will be outgoing, articulate, and a multi-tasker with a "can-do" service-oriented attitude. The successful individual will anticipate when assistance is needed by identifying issues and solutions before being asked. An ability to juggle multiple projects, strong software skills, and good judgment are expected. This person must also be an effective communicator and be able to collaborate with multiple experience and seniority levels across the organization.

Performance Objectives:

Support TOI, TCAN, TPN, TPEL, and TOE in defining strategies to optimize upcoming product launches, and drive alignment on overarching strategy across functions and markets. This includes:
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand footprint and build new partnerships that enhance revenue streams.
  • Identify and implement approaches to optimize asset value (e.g., via evidence needs in different markets, market launch sequencing, indication launch sequencing, pipeline synergies).
  • Where relevant, facilitate and pursue diagnostic initiatives to support improved patient identification for targeted therapies in the pipeline (i.e., approaches to ensure treating
  • HCPs and pathologists are testing and using results to make appropriate treatment decisions).
  • Collaborate with Market Research and cross-functional colleagues to define business questions and possible challenges for upcoming launches. 
  • Leverage insights (market research, ad board outputs, learnings from discussions with SLs, etc.) to develop asset differentiation strategies and mitigations for identified challenges. 
  • Collaborate with functional leads and various Taiho entities (TOI, TCAN, TOE, TPN, TPEL, and TPC) to build and implement launch plans that support commercialization of pipeline assets while meeting specific time and event schedules.
  • Liaise with TOE management team to implement and execute commercial product strategies in EU, UK, and Swiss markets.
  • Build and develop relationships with staff of the related companies for increased efficiency and effective responsiveness into existing operations, and help to define new operational strategies, collaborating with various teams on special projects.
  • With minimal guidance, assume responsibility for planning, organizing, and executing projects of varying sizes and complexities.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations, reports, and briefings to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Conduct research and compile data to assist with decision-making and strategic planning. Manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism, always maintaining confidentiality.

Education/Certification Requirements:

BS/BA or equivalent in supply chain, business, math, finance or science or equivalent experience.Master's degree would be preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Pharmaceutical or biotech industry - 7+ years of progressive experience with proven success in strategic or operational roles in the Americas and Europe.Exceptional problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity.Strong project management and communication abilities.Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions under pressure.Experience in consulting or operations management is a plus.Poised, diplomatic, and service-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, adapt to change, and thrive in ambiguity.Ability to read, analyze and interpret scientific and technical information and data.Ability to learn, integrate complex information, and communicate key insights in clear, concise fashion to team members.A positive attitude, flexibility and a proactive thought process.Team player who can work in a dynamic environment.The incumbent in this position may be required to perform other duties, as assigned.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $198,050-$233,000 annually. This pay range is based on the market range for positions of this type. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including annual bonus/incentive comp plans, potential long term incentive plan, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate/employee receives an offer of employment.
