The Opportunity
- Reliability Engineer at a Growth-Oriented Energy Company
- Opportunity to conduct engineering studies and makes recommendations to improve the reliability of refinery equipment, specifically in fixed equipment categories such as piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and pressure relief valves

- Reporting to the Reliability Superintendent, this position is responsible for initiatives and improvement of refinery systems.
Key Activities Include
- Take ownership of facility fixed equipment (piping, pressure vessels, relief valves, heat exchangers) as a primary director & consultant for maintenance, repairs, and reliability initiatives
- Identify and implement reliability recommendations using RCM analysis
- Champion the fixed equipment bad actor program. Develop and/or assist in the strategies for the resolution of bad actors.
- Work closely with inspections to evaluate piping and equipment corrosion trends to predict end of life and make recommendations for replacement
- Calculate flange closure data, such as torque and tensioning procedures
- Drive Management of Change (MOC) process and participate as lead evaluator
- Assist with engineering tasks outside the fixed equipment scope, including rotating equipment, instrumentation, electrical, and environmental.
- Execute projects related to design and modification of fixed equipment
- Evaluate leak prevention, mitigation, and repair plans (clamps, composite wraps)
- Investigates equipment problems and failures for root cause and provides engineering recommendations for resolution including economic impacts of various alternatives.
- Review and recommend critical spare parts to keep equipment running reliably
- Use SAP to update equipment repair histories, provide technical data updates, and input necessary changes to equipment bill of materials
- Lead fixed equipment jobs during turnarounds and other maintenance outages
- Proactively seek out cost savings and reliability enhancement opportunities.
- Must be available to work on off-hours especially for emergencies and turnarounds.
- Must be able to work effectively with others at all levels and functional areas of the refinery
- Must be able to work a 9/80 schedule
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays and on call 24/7 for emergencies.

Qualifications
To meet the basic qualifications for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. Additional Qualifications Include
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline required
- Background in Mechanical, Chemical, Metallurgy/Corrosion, or Petroleum Engineering preferred
- 5 years of experience in piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, corrosion, manufacturing equipment reliability, or similarly related refining experience preferred
- SAP, Management of Change (MOC) process, PCMS or other similar inspection database, ASME Standards (primarily Section VIII & IX, B31.3, PCC-1 & 2), API Standards (primarily 510, , 653, 580), and torque calculations experience preferred
- Must be able to communicate in oral and written format with all levels of employees within the organization.

Hiring Range
The hiring range for this position is $112,000 to $140,000, plus a non-discretionary bonus. The candidate selected will be placed according to his/her skills and qualifications.

Our Refineries and Logistics Operations
