Role Description
We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support day-to-day HR functions and serve as a key point of contact for employees and managers.
Position Summary
In collaboration with the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist supports day-to-day HR functions. Responsibilities may include recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, performance management, employee relations, compliance, and/or reporting. This role ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal labor laws and supports the organization's mission by fostering a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement HR best practices that help attract, develop, and retain talented staff.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.
- Manage full-cycle recruitment, including posting jobs, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and onboarding and orientating new staff.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and vendor coordination.
- Support the annual performance review process.
- Assist with employee relations matters, providing guidance, drafting disciplinary actions, conducting investigations, and documenting outcomes.
- Coordinate exit processes, including offboarding, exit interviews, and final documentation.
- Maintain accurate HR files and records and generate reports as needed.
- Support HR projects, training, and organizational development initiatives as assigned.
- Maintain employee files and records.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field .
- 2-3 years of progressively responsible HR experience (nonprofit or mission-driven organization is plus).
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of federal, state (NV), and local labor laws and HR best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
- Experience with recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, and performance management.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification is preferred.
- Must be able to pass a Federal background check, included fingerprinting
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45, $50,000.00 per year
