About The Role
*This is a PRN (as-needed) opportunity—perfect for someone who is passionate about supporting families but needs flexibility. PRN staff are called upon to provide services when there is increased demand, coverage needs, or special events. While hours may vary week to week, you'll play an important part in ensuring families receive timely and compassionate support when they need it most.
*Position Summary
The Client Services Specialist ensures that STARRY clients have high quality services. This role is essential in meeting FAYS contract expectations. This role will be essential in evaluating client eligibility and fit for services through initial phone calls and gathering pertinent information required for services provided by STARRY, within contract(s) expectations. This role also ensures adherence to ethical codes and best practice in the field. This role reports to and interacts with STARRY staff, Team Supervisors and Directors. Additionally, this position must understand and support the greater mission of STARRY.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls for STARRY services daily.
- Use electronic health record system to gather necessary demographic information for potential clients.
- Assess client eligibility for services.
- Help non-eligible clients navigate alternative resources.
- Virtually complete state required intake documents for eligible clients for all STARRY offices.
- Prepare new clients for what services will look like and assign them a clinical provider.
- Assess for client safety and complete assessments as necessary
- Provide de-escalation, support, and referral resources as needed
- Be available to assist staff when crisis situations occur in the offices
- Utilize healthy coping skills to reduce secondary trauma
- Participate in weekly team meetings
- Be available to participate in in-person meetings as needed
- Use excellent customer service skills to represent STARRY and meet the needs of clients
- Communicate effectively with Team Supervisors to ensure assigning clients to clinical providers is a smooth process
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Experience in crisis intervention
- Must possess good written, verbal, social media, and electronic communication skills
- Able to organize, file, and retrieve information
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and network effectively
- Excellent problem-solving skills, flexibility, and "out-of-the-box" thinking
- Ability to manage crisis situations with professionalism and precision
- Understanding of State contract
- Strong skills in Excel and ability to learn and utilize Electronic Health Records programs
- Team player willing to pitch in as needed to support offices
- Excels at operating in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment
- Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and diverse workplace
- Very strong attention to detail
- Must be computer literate with ability to maintain records electronically
- Must be self-motivated with good organizational and time management skills
- Strong client care capabilities, and ethical documentation and practice
- Must have reliable transportation and ability to travel as needed
- Must have confident and friendly demeanor- capable of effectively working with staff and leadership
- Approved criminal background report.
- Able to satisfy all applicable requirements and State standard requirements
