Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of medical billing processes, coding, and collections. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement for services rendered, while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.

Duties

  • Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Utilize CPT coding, HCPCS, and ICD-10 for proper coding of diagnoses and procedures.
  • Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid claims and conducting medical collections as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies and address patient inquiries regarding their bills.
  • Utilize EMR and EHR systems for efficient management of patient information and billing processes.
  • Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices to ensure compliance.

Experience

  • Proven experience in medical billing, coding, and collections within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10.
  • Familiarity with EMR and EHR systems is essential for this role.
  • Previous experience in a medical office environment is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
