Job Description

BAE Systems Intelligence & Security division is seeking an Open-Source Intelligence Analyst to join our team in Quantico, VA in support of a Maritime effort for (MAGIC) Marine Corps Intelligence Activity Analysis, Geospatial Imagery, and Counterintelligence Support Services program.

The ideal candidate will provide direct support to MCIA to provide situational awareness and intelligence production and analysis for numerous AORs.

Candidate will conduct all-source analytic production on sources and products of information available from public, private, and US and foreign government open-source materials within established security protocols. Analyze foreign and domestic-based publicly available information to identify trends, patterns, and relationships that provide unique insights to address defense intelligence requirements.

**Candidates must be able to leverage Mandarin Chinese language skills and cultural/area knowledge in support of OSINT with a DLPT score of 3/3 or better (DLPT score no older than 5 years upon hire date).

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

At least 8 years of relevant experience with a portion of that experience being within the last 2 years.

Must be able to demonstrate the ability to, in the areas as stated below:

  • In-depth mission knowledge and skills related to All-Source Analysis.
  • A mastery of qualitative and quantitative analytic methodologies.
  • Work independently with minimal oversight.
  • In-depth analysis of analytic operations and knowledge management issues across organizational and IC boundaries and clearly articulate findings.

Candidates will be expected to:

  • Conduct OSINT activities in response to Government Request for Information (RFI) or tasking by

    the OIC including working with the Government to clarify and refine the RFI, collecting,

    exploiting, and analyzing-online open-source information, and preparing a report in the format

    required by the task, with minimal supervision using commercial internet, NIPRNet, SIPRNet and

    SCINet systems and tools.
  • Populate and maintain databases in support of and in conjunction with Data Analysts and DataScientists.
  • Document types and structure of open-source data, analyze and mine data to identify patterns andcorrelations, map and trace data from system to system or source to source, design and create data

    reports.
  • Assist the OSINT Team in using and evaluating available Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS)tools.
  • Employ COTS tools to aggregate, structure, visualize, and assess available open-sourceinformation; infer and assess the relevance, veracity, and credibility of the information and its

    source.
  • Employ managed attribution (MA) software and associated online tradecraft while executingOSINT collection activities; demonstrate an understanding of the limitations of MA tools.
  • Develop innovative ways to combine data from different tools to provide analytical results that areof greater value and relevance to Operational Forces.
  • Train and mentor Marines in OSINT tradecraft and best practices, including the ability toadminister MCIA's Expeditionary OSINT Course.
  • Identify, develop, and formalize new OSINT tradecraft and other SOPs to meet missionrequirement.
  • Leverage Mandarin Chinese language skills and cultural/area knowledge in support of OSINT with a DLPT score of 3/3 or better (DLPT score no older than 5 years upon hire date).
  • Develops open-source research strategies to support specific information gaps.
  • Manually search for, exploit and analyze a variety of online open sources to include media, socialmedia, academic literature, videos, maps etc. in target language to augment information acquired

    through other sources and/or to fill information gaps.
  • Use various tools and methods to determine authenticity and currency of information acquiredfrom the Internet.
  • Create reports using Word and PowerPoint to convey research findings; generate Open-SourceIntelligence Reports (OSIRs).
  • Verbally brief findings and research methods to various consumers.
  • Use language skills to conduct searches and translate foreign articles, journals, and other forms ofmedia into English.
  • Participate in meetings, conferences, and exercises.
  • Candidates will have completed a joint-accredited OSINT course. Joint-accredited OSINT coursesinclude but are not limited to: EOSINT (USMC), OS301 and OS302 (Army), ONI OSINT

    Fundamentals Course (Navy), Introduction to OSINT (USAF), DIA BOTC (DIA), NGA OSINT

    Course (NGA), NERD (SOCOM). Commercial alternatives to a joint-accredited OSINT course

    include but are not limited to: CASO (Black Horse Solutions), and SEC 497 and SEC 587 (SANS

    Institute).

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Desired Experience: At least 8 years of experience conducting analysis relevant to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
    Desired Education: Bachelor's degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
