Job Description

Job overview
As our maintenance technician, you'll perform general maintenance and repairs on facilities and grounds at our Salem headquarters and our regional offices. When you do, you'll follow our corporate standards, local and national codes, and standard building trades practices.
Note: You'll be based in Salem, but from time to time, as the need arises, you'll get to travel to our offices in Bend, Eugene, Medford, North Bend, and Lake Oswego.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with maintaining, altering, and basic repairs to the buildings, equipment, fixtures, furniture, and grounds. Perform basic carpentry and plumbing, complete touch-up paint to interiors and exteriors, assist in renovation projects, and remove snow and ice.
- Participate in conducting daily inspections throughout the Salem buildings to identify safety hazards. Create work orders for issues found. Assist in determining repair and maintenance work needed to prevent unnecessary down time of facilities and equipment.
- Use computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to create work orders, document work completed, and ensure preventative maintenance tasks are completed as assigned.
- Carry a SAIF issued cell phone during scheduled work hours and during scheduled on call hours. Ensure availability for on call work according to the on-call schedule and on occasion, be available to work outside scheduled work hours. Take appropriate action to initiate solutions within potentially critical time frames.
- Travel to SAIF offices throughout the state on an as needed basis to perform maintenance projects and tasks.
Read and understand technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to assist in job performance.
Assist in moving furniture, materials, and equipment from, to, and within SAIF's various locations.
- Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and apply current knowledge of biohazards.
- This position requires driving a SAIF vehicle or personal vehicle on behalf of SAIF. The incumbent is required to possess and maintain a valid driver's license in their state of residence along with an acceptable driving record according to SAIF's policy.

- Continually sustain the Inclusive Leadership Competencies (ILC) through the Explorer level on an annual basis.
Recommended qualifications:
- Experience: Three years' experience using hand and power tools to perform general building maintenance and construction tasks. Have basic understanding of plumbing, painting, and carpentry.
- Education: High school graduation or equivalent.
- Other combinations of skills and experience may be considered.

Compensation & Benefits
Typical hiring range: $51,604 - $60,710. The pay range for this position is annually based on a full-time schedule. Actual compensation will be determined using factors such as experience, skills, training, certifications & education.
