Department Information

The Department of Computer Science and Information Systems (CSIS) resides in the Mike Cottrell College of Business (MCCB) and offers undergraduate programs in computer science (CS), information systems (IS), and cybersecurity. CS is ABET accredited. IS has AACSB accreditation, as do the other business programs in the college. The MCCB is home to the UNG Institute for Cyber Operations, Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and the Truist Center for Ethical Leadership. MCCB graduate programs include the Cottrell MBA, Master of Accountancy, and three graduate certificates, one of which is in cybersecurity. A Master of Science in CS with focus areas of machine learning and cyber operations has a target start date of summer 2023. The department also offers a number of minors in computer science.

Job Summary
The Department of Computer Science and Information Systems in the Mike Cottrell College of Business (MCCB) invites applicants for a part-time faculty position in Cybersecurity. The successful candidate will teach cybersecurity courses. Relevant credentials and experience in cybersecurity is required. Quality teaching and student engagement are high priorities in the MCCB.

Responsibilities

• Teach one or two undergraduate cybersecurity related courses per semester, as needed.
• Use innovative teaching and learning techniques to provide high quality learning experiences in and out of the classroom.

Required Qualifications

• A master's degree in Cybersecurity or a related field with at least 18 credit hours of graduate level coursework in computer science or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• A PhD in cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred.
• Evidence of superior teaching abilities strongly preferred.
• Professional experience or certifications in specialized areas of cybersecurity is preferred.
