Job Description

The Practical Nurse assists in the delivery of quality healthcare by exercising sound nursing judgment in accordance with recognized healthcare techniques, procedures and established standards and administrative policies. The nurse actively participates as a member of the healthcare team to engage patients, families, and caregivers in the coordination of patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide quality patient care and treatment, including examination, diagnostic, and treatment procedures.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Educate patients and families on health management and medication effects.
  • React calmly and effectively during emergency situations.
  • Maintain knowledge of safety hazards, physician office procedures, and medical terminology.
  • Utilize various types of equipment for examination and treatment procedures.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
  • One year of nursing experience preferred.
  • Current Pennsylvania Practical Nurse License.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) per American Heart Association standards, renewed every two years.
