Job Overview:
The Product Concept Designer is responsible for developing innovative and visually compelling product concepts across collectibles, apparel, packaging, and related merchandise. This role bridges creative ideation and production readiness—transforming ideas into detailed visuals, mockups, and presentations that communicate clear design intent to internal teams, licensors, and manufacturing partners.
You will collaborate closely with the creative and product development teams to conceptualize new product lines, explore material and form possibilities, and create cohesive design presentations that bring the company's vision and brand identity to life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Concept Development: Generate creative product ideas, sketches, and visual concepts for collectibles, apparel, packaging, and other merchandise categories.
- Design Execution: Create polished concept art, product mockups, and packaging layouts using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Packaging Design: Develop and visualize packaging concepts that enhance the collectible experience—balancing aesthetic, structural, and functional requirements.
- Presentation Design: Build visually dynamic PowerPoint or PDF presentations for internal reviews, client pitches, and licensing partners.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, marketing, and external vendors to ensure design concepts are feasible and aligned with production needs.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Product Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–5 years of experience in consumer products, collectibles, or merchandising design.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Skilled in PowerPoint for design and concept presentations.
- Working knowledge of Trello, or other project management tools.
- Understanding of packaging design, structure, and production processes.
- Strong sense of color, typography, and visual storytelling.
- Ability to create both rough concept sketches and polished digital mockups.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Passion for pop culture, collectibles, and fandom-related design is a plus.
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have):
- Experience with 3D visualization tools (e.g., Blender, Dimension, KeyShot).
- Experience working with licensed brands or entertainment IPs.
