Full-Time Position

A skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility with a fully kosher kitchen is seeking a dedicated Chef / Food Service Manager to oversee daily food service operations. The ideal candidate will have strong culinary and leadership skills, knowledge of healthcare dietary standards, and a willingness to become a Mashgiach (kosher kitchen supervisor).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all kitchen operations in accordance with kosher dietary laws and facility policies.
  • Oversee food preparation, menu execution, and meal service to ensure compliance with both healthcare and kosher requirements.
  • Train, schedule, and support kitchen staff to maintain high standards of safety, sanitation, and food quality.
  • Collaborate with Dietitians and Nursing to accommodate therapeutic and texture-modified diets.
  • Maintain accurate records, temperature logs, and inventory controls.
  • Work closely with the facility's Rabbi or Kosher certification agency to ensure ongoing compliance.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Chef, Kitchen Manager, or Food Service Manager in a healthcare or institutional setting (preferred).
  • Understanding of or willingness to learn kosher dietary laws and procedures.
  • Willingness to obtain Mashgiach training or certification if required.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • ServSafe certification preferred.
