Overview

Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) working the Evening Shift (2:30 PM - 10:30 PM), Monday through Friday In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring they receive the support they need to thrive in a safe and nurturing environment. Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
  • Monitor residents' health by observing vital signs, administering medications as prescribed, and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and snacks tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen.
  • Support residents during recreational activities and social outings within the community to promote engagement and social skills development.
  • Maintain accurate care plans and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
  • Conduct regular patient observations to ensure safety, respond promptly to emergencies, and implement safety protocols such as CPR or first aid when needed.
  • Perform light cleaning duties in resident living areas to uphold hygiene standards and create a welcoming environment.
  • Transport residents to outings and pickup from day program. Must have a valid driver license and clean driving record.

Skills

  • Proven experience working with people with developmental disabilities or in assisted living environments.
  • Knowledge of patient care techniques including medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and dementia or Alzheimer's care.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting and assisting with mobility aids like Hoyer lifts safely.
  • Familiarity with care plans, HIPAA compliance, and documentation practices related to home health or hospice care.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly preferred; additional training in group home or long-term care settings is advantageous.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $13.00 per hour
